{song of the day} Liars - No.1 Against The Rush

Liars - No.1 Against The Rush
{listen to the song here ^}

Liars will return on June 5th with their sixth studio album {WIXIW}, the follow-up to 2010s A-MAZ-ING Sisterworld.  According to an issued press release, “recording saw the band working more collaboratively than on previous recordings, and began when Angus Andrew and Aaron Hemphill moved into an isolated cabin in the mountains to begin writing.” It was then recorded in Los Angeles, self-produced by the band with Mute Records co-founder Daniel Miller, mixed by Tom Biller, and will be released by Mute Records.
The end result is “simultaneously the most accessible and most challenging release from these iconoclasts, it is both a summation of Liars’ work up to now, and a complete break from anything you’d ever heard the band do previously."  I...cannot wait.

{song of the day} Zebra Katz - Ima Read

The "unofficial" official song of Paris Fashion Week...after it was the soundtrack to Rick Owens AW 2012 show.  So, so chic.  However...a few people, of course {and maybe even rightfully}, had some issues with the lyrics.

Here's a quote from the intelligent Owens that I believe explains the infectious, can't get it outta your head, song perfectly;  “‘I’m gonna read that bitch’ is a gay vogueing-culture term for ‘tell her what’s what.’ It’s ridiculously exaggerated in this song and expressed mostly through the female voice. I liked how it expressed savage impulses in a chilly, controlled way. And I was speaking to the savage impulses we all recognize in ourselves and suppress in elaborate and formal ways.” {well put}

{song of the day} Hanni El Khatib - Build. Destroy. Rebuild.

Hanni El Khatib is the first-generation American son of Palestinian and Filipino immigrants. Whether his parentage affords him greater punk cachet or impetus, I can't say, although he does want to marry Lil' Kim "because she's fucking nuts" and believes listening to Black Sabbath in the morning will solve the world's problems. {If that's not enough to like someone...I don't know what's wrong with you}

Anywho...it's oft asked what The Beatles would sound like today.  Well...I cannot answer that, but if you'd like to know what punk would have sounded like, you're in luck

ps...as per usual -- I'm providing the free download link right nyhere

pps...Hanni {may I call you Hanni}, I also, am quite fucking nuts.  Just puttin it out there.
